Trail's End Ranch was created to provide a natural, stress free environment to raise performance horses. All horses are raised and maintained in open pastures allowing for plenty of excercise. We believe that horses need to be horses during the formative years to develop healthy, trainable minds. Once in training, they have a chance to R&R at the ranch occasionally, giving them a break from their training routines. Using this philosophy, Trail's End Ranch is producing strong, saavy two year olds ready to take on training.

Located about 20 miles Northwest of Prescott in the Long Meadow area, Trail's End Ranch consists of 80 acres that is adjacent to the Prescott National Forest. Trail riding is a hobby at the ranch and it gives the performance horses a chance to get away from the day to day rigors of training.

We have placed a great deal of confidence in four stud horses for our breeding program. RR Star on the paint side. Light N Fine (By Grays Starlight out of Lenas Fine Freckle. 2007 NRCHA Worlds Greatest Horseman) and Fancy Be Me (By Freckles Fancy Twist out of Zack B Lee. Has over $29,000 earnings NCHA). We have also bred to Easy Otie Whiz,an outstanding reining horse with LTE of $243,441 by Topsail Whiz. We have two Gangster Chic offspring which are proving to be very good working cow horses.

We have concentrated on acquiring proven mares and some young mares that will compete and then enter the breeding program. The goal is to have 3 to 5 quality foals each year between the paints and the quarter horses. These prospects will be raised on the ranch until they are two year olds and then placed in training. Young prospects are occasionally sold, primarily as a result of an arranged breeding.

All of our two year olds are started by our trainer, Joe Bob DeWitt, in Dewey AZ. Joe Bob will evalutate the young horses for cow sense and dry work ability. Reining prospects will be sold or moved to reining trainers.Joe Bob rides the working cow horse open show horses for the ranch and Ron competes in the amatuer non pro working cow horse on a variety of ranch horses.
